Study on the influence of industrial structure optimization on water environment and economy: A case study of Changzhou city

Economic development and large amounts of industrial production have led to environmental deterioration. The assessment prediction water environment capacity (WEC) are crucial supports for quality target management. Therefore, this study aims improve WEC via changes in the structure analyze economic changes. For purpose, efficiency (EE), use (WUE), treatment (WTE) estimated by EE–SBM (slack-based measure)–DEA (data envelopment analysis) model. Based on proposed model, industry is divided into three types: green enterprises, yellow red enterprises. Yellow enterprises major supervision subjects, spatial distribution different risks identified. WECs main canals analyzed based dynamic integrating 0-D MIKE11 models. results showed that after adjusting structure, maximum added values chemical oxygen demand (COD), total nitrogen (TN), ammonia (NH 3 –N), phosphorus (TP) 1,744.66 t/a, 536.14 24.81 4.16 respectively. show (R40, R41, R20, R19, R17) overloaded with pollutants indicate TN included as a target. Furthermore, optimization loss output value 174.44 million yuan, economy 232.12 yuan. findings provide important technical support achieving upgrading sustainable development.
